ARTIST STATEMENT

The hygge that is possible when an object is warm and soft is what I aim to create when I create a sculpture. I am captivated by the tactile richness of textiles, as I believe that yarns and threads have the power to evoke deep sensations of comfort and warmth. My artistry taps into a universal human experience where the sense transcends cultural differences, embodying cherished memories of home, family, and love. The creative process itself serves as a therapy for me, offering unparalleled levels of satisfaction and joy. By incorporating traditional motifs and techniques into my work, I create pieces that reflect my identity and cultural heritage.

Through the creation of soft sculptures, tapestries, and needle-felting works that are rich in color and brimming with festive aspects I create a mercurial experience. By utilizing various types of fiber, I share my culture's customs and traditions as well as my personal experience. I wish to offer respect and understanding amongst cultures to those who view my work.

Ultimately, my textiles are a reflection of my journey as an artist, as well as a  celebration of the rich cultural heritage that has shaped me.
